Batelco by Beyond strengthens Bahrain IXP through partnerships with Tata Communications and Tencent

Batelco by Beyon has announced new strategic partnerships with Tata Communications and Tencent to enhance Manama IX, Bahrain’s first Internet Exchange Point (IXP), strengthening its role as a regional interconnection and connectivity hub.

The agreements, signed during Capacity Middle East, focus on improving network security and expanding global content connectivity. Tata Communications has joined Manama IX as a peer and strategic security partner, introducing advanced DDoS mitigation capabilities designed to deliver carrier-grade protection and ensure service continuity for connected networks.

Tencent has also joined the exchange as a tenant, expanding the IXP’s global content ecosystem and supporting improved connectivity and reduced latency for networks across Bahrain and the wider Middle East. The collaboration is intended to support growing regional demand for reliable content delivery and scalable digital infrastructure.

Batelco by Beyon said the partnerships reinforce Manama IX’s position as a future-ready interconnection platform capable of supporting carriers, service providers, and content networks as traffic volumes and digital services continue to grow.
