ISLAMABAD, 17 February 2026: Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has endorsed a partnership between digital banking and investment platform Fasset and infrastructure developer Habib Rafiq Limited (HRL), describing the collaboration as a step forward in strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy and investment ecosystem.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, the minister said the initiative aligns with the government’s Digital Nation Pakistan vision, which aims to expand financial inclusion, modernize capital flows, and support the country’s growing digital workforce. She emphasized the importance of building secure financial infrastructure that enables freelancers and technology professionals to efficiently receive, manage, and reinvest income generated through global digital services.
Under the partnership, Fasset plans to enter the Pakistani market by leveraging HRL’s local infrastructure and market presence. The collaboration focuses on enabling digital investment pathways through the tokenisation of real-world assets, particularly within Pakistan’s real estate and domestic asset market. The initiative also seeks to introduce low-cost, real-time payout solutions tailored to Pakistan’s large freelance community, supporting faster and more transparent financial transactions.
The partnership is also expected to facilitate foreign direct investment by simplifying capital inflows through blockchain-enabled systems designed to enhance transparency and investor confidence. Industry observers note that such initiatives could help connect international investors with local projects while improving access to investment opportunities for overseas Pakistanis.
Participants at the event highlighted the growing role of fintech innovation in shaping Pakistan’s economic strategy, particularly as the country seeks to retain digital export earnings and attract global capital. The collaboration reflects broader efforts to integrate asset digitisation, blockchain-based finance, and digital payment infrastructure into Pakistan’s evolving digital economy framework.
