DIFC’s Dubai FinTech Summit Expands Globally with Pakistan Digital Authority

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), in collaboration with the Pakistan Digital Authority, will host the Pakistan FinTech Summit (PFS) on August 18–19, 2026. The event marks the first international expansion of the Dubai FinTech Summit platform.

The summit will convene policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, technology companies, investors, and startups to explore the evolution of Pakistan’s digital finance sector and its broader financial innovation ecosystem.

DIFC Authority Chief Executive Officer Arif Amiri stated that expanding the summit to Pakistan reflects deepening engagement between the UAE and Pakistan in fintech and digital finance. The move underscores growing bilateral cooperation in advancing financial technology initiatives.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its fintech landscape through regulatory reforms, digital infrastructure development, and cross-border partnerships. She noted that fintech is increasingly being viewed as a core component of economic infrastructure rather than a standalone industry.

Pakistan’s fintech sector has witnessed notable momentum in recent years. Organisers shared that fintech funding reached $52.5 million in the first half of 2025. By late November 2025, 450 fintech companies had collectively raised $391 million in venture capital.

Despite this progress, challenges persist, including infrastructure limitations and continued reliance on cash transactions. Industry stakeholders believe fintech solutions can play a vital role in expanding digital financial access, particularly in underserved and rural communities.

The summit is expected to feature dialogue between Pakistani and UAE regulators, alongside potential investment announcements and partnership agreements. Additional details regarding participating organisations and the event programme will be announced closer to the summit date.
