M-Pesa Ethiopia has partnered with Gebeya to launch a new subscription package that allows Ethiopians to pay for AI creation tools directly through M-Pesa.
The “Dala AI Bundle” gives users access to Dala Studio’s localized AI tools, including app and game development, AI agent creation, comic generation, and content production in Amharic, Oromo and other local languages. Subscriptions can be paid seamlessly using M-Pesa wallets.
Initially available on the Dala Studio platform, the bundle will soon be integrated into the M-Pesa app, expanding access to AI tools for anyone with a mobile phone and an active wallet.
Gebeya CEO Amadou Daffe said the initiative empowers Ethiopians to create digital products in their own languages using a familiar payment platform. The move builds on Gebeya’s collaboration under the Safaricom Talent Cloud, which has trained thousands of developers in Ethiopia.
M-PESA Ethiopia CEO Elsa Muzzolini said the partnership supports inclusive digital innovation by making AI tools more accessible through trusted mobile payments.
