Kingston introduces Next-gen XTS-AES 256-bit Hardware-Encrypted USB Drive

Dubai, UAE – March 17, 2026: Kingston Digital Europe Co LLP, the flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., a world leader in memory products and technology solutions, has announced the launch of the next-generation IronKey™ Locker+ 50 G2 (LP50G2) hardware-encrypted USB flash drive. The drive offers enterprise-grade security with FIPS 197 certification and XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption. It also provides protection against BadUSB attacks through digitally signed firmware and safeguards data from brute force password attempts.

The LP50G2 features a premium space grey metal casing and supports both Admin and User passwords with options for Complex or Passphrase modes. Complex mode allows passwords ranging from 6 to 16 characters using at least three of four character sets. Passphrase mode enables users to create PINs, sentences, word lists or other memorable phrases from 10 to 64 characters. Admin users can enable or reset User passwords when required. To help reduce login errors, an optional “eye” symbol allows users to reveal typed passwords and avoid repeated failed attempts.

Brute force protection locks the User password after ten incorrect attempts and crypto-erases the drive if the Admin password is entered incorrectly ten times consecutively. Additional security features include a virtual keyboard designed to protect against keyloggers and screenloggers, as well as an anti-fingerprint coating that helps resist scratches on the device casing.

Designed for ease of use, the LP50G2 requires no application installation and can be quickly set up by users. The drive is compatible with both Windows® and macOS® systems, allowing files to be accessed across multiple devices and environments.

Oscar Escayola Kaloudis, EMEA Flash Business Manager and Sales Manager DACH, Middle East and Africa, Greece and Israel for Kingston, said the new device strengthens the security capabilities of the IronKey lineup. He noted that the Kingston IronKey portfolio now features XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption across the entire range, backed by FIPS 197 certification from a NIST-authorised laboratory. The portfolio also includes three FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated drives designed to meet the security requirements of consumers, enterprises and government organisations.

The Kingston IronKey Locker+ 50 G2 is available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 256GB and comes with a limited five-year warranty, free technical support and Kingston’s reliability standards.
