BIRMINGHAM, England — Changan UK has launched the all-electric CHANGAN DEEPAL S05, a compact C-SUV designed to combine premium styling, intelligent technology and everyday practicality for modern drivers. The vehicle aims to deliver a high-tech electric driving experience with long range, comfort and advanced safety features.

He noted that the vehicle offers balanced performance, thoughtful interior comfort and intuitive technology while maintaining a competitive price point.
Range, Comfort and Safety
The CHANGAN DEEPAL S05 is powered by a 68.8kWh LFP battery and delivers a WLTP range of up to 303 miles for the rear-wheel drive version and up to 278 miles for the all-wheel drive model.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle features an aircraft-inspired cockpit design equipped with vegan leather heated and ventilated front seats. The passenger seat offers a full-recline “zero gravity” function designed for enhanced comfort during long journeys.
Technology is centred around a 15.4-inch rotating touchscreen display, supported by an augmented-reality head-up display (AR-HUD), a 14-speaker audio system and wireless smartphone connectivity, creating a connected in-car experience.
Safety is a major focus of the vehicle’s design. The DEEPAL S05 has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and includes 17 intelligent driver-assistance systems. These systems enable Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities supported by cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors. A 540-degree surround-view camera system also provides enhanced visibility for drivers.
A Global Development Platform
Changan continues to expand its presence in Europe and currently operates in 16 markets across the region. Additional launches in Italy, Spain and Poland are expected in the near future, while the United Kingdom serves as a key hub for the company’s European development activities.
The DEEPAL S05 reflects this global approach to vehicle development. The model was designed at the Changan Design Center Europe in Turin and calibrated at the Changan UK Research and Development Centre in Birmingham to suit local driving conditions.
For the UK market, the vehicle is produced at Changan’s Rayong factory in Thailand, which was established in 2023 as a production hub for global right-hand-drive markets. The facility sources approximately 60 percent of its components locally and supports consistent quality, testing and global logistics.
The DEEPAL S05 represents Changan’s broader international strategy, integrating design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities across multiple regions to deliver electric vehicles tailored for global markets.
