Cisco appoints new Vice President and General Manager to lead Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania and CIS

Dubai, UAE, March 25, 2026 — Cisco has appointed Shane Heraty as Vice President and General Manager for the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania and CIS (MEA–TRC) region, effective May 1, to lead its strategy and operations across a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Heraty brings over 30 years of experience in the technology sector, including more than two decades at Cisco. Most recently, he led Cisco Africa, where he advanced investment strategies and accelerated the company’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) programmes across multiple markets.

In his new role, Heraty will focus on helping customers and partners strengthen cybersecurity, modernize workplaces, and build critical infrastructure to support AI-driven transformation. His leadership will also aim to deepen ecosystem collaboration and accelerate digital adoption across the region.

Heraty has previously held several senior leadership roles within Cisco, including General Manager for Qatar and leadership positions across Scotland, Ireland, and Commercial UKI. His experience spans enterprise, service provider, and partner ecosystems.

Cisco highlighted that the appointment aligns with its broader strategy to support AI-era infrastructure development and unlock new opportunities for innovation and economic growth across the region.

He succeeds David Meads, who is retiring after a 30-year tenure at Cisco, during which he played a key role in expanding the company’s regional presence and advancing digital transformation initiatives.
