Egypt’s mobile internet users reach 92.6 million, IDC data shows

Egypt’s mobile internet user base has reached 92.6 million as of December 2025, reflecting continued growth in digital adoption across the country.

The figures highlight the scale of mobile connectivity in Egypt, where smartphones remain the primary access point for internet services. Rising demand for data-driven applications, including social media, streaming, and digital financial services, is contributing to increased usage.

The growth is supported by ongoing investment in telecom infrastructure, including network expansion and upgrades to improve coverage and service quality. Mobile operators continue to play a central role in enabling access to digital services for both consumers and businesses.

Despite strong growth, challenges remain around network performance, affordability, and digital inclusion, particularly in rural and lower-income segments. Addressing these gaps will be key to sustaining adoption and ensuring broader participation in the digital economy.

Egypt’s expanding user base reinforces its position as one of the largest digital markets in the region, with significant opportunities for technology providers and digital platforms.

Editor’s Note:
Scale is becoming Egypt’s biggest advantage in the digital economy. Converting this large user base into higher-value digital engagement will be key to unlocking the next phase of growth.
