Algeria Telecom has been awarded the Quality Achievements Award 2026 by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), recognizing the operator’s commitment to quality management, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement.
The award was presented during the ESQR International Convention and Awards Ceremony held in Brussels, where leaders from business, industry, and diplomatic communities gathered to celebrate organizations demonstrating excellence in quality standards and performance management.
Algeria Telecom Chairman and CEO Abdelghani Ait Said received the award on behalf of the company, marking another milestone in the operator’s ongoing modernization and digital transformation journey.
According to the company, the recognition reflects a series of achievements driven by a long-term strategic vision focused on improving operational performance, strengthening service quality, and aligning the organization’s practices with international standards.
Over the past year, Algeria Telecom has accelerated investments in next-generation connectivity infrastructure, including the rollout of Wi-Fi 7 technology and the continued expansion of its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network. These initiatives are aimed at improving broadband performance, expanding digital access, and enhancing customer experiences across the country.
The operator has also maintained a strong focus on quality management and customer satisfaction, successfully renewing its ISO 9001:2015 certification in early 2026. The certification reinforces the company’s commitment to internationally recognized quality standards across its operations and service delivery processes.
Beyond network development, Algeria Telecom has played an active role in supporting Algeria’s broader digital ambitions. The company partnered with the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to organize the Global Africa Tech Summit 2026, a major technology event held under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and aimed at strengthening Algeria’s position within Africa’s growing digital economy.
The company noted that the award reflects the efforts of its workforce in driving innovation, expanding connectivity, and supporting national digital transformation goals through advanced telecommunications infrastructure and customer-focused services.
As Algeria continues investing in fiber networks, digital services, and technology innovation, Algeria Telecom remains a central player in the country’s efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and enhance regional competitiveness.
Editor’s Note
This award is significant not because it recognizes past achievements, but because it reflects Algeria Telecom’s broader transformation into a modern digital infrastructure operator. Across Africa, telecommunications companies are increasingly being judged on service quality, customer experience, and innovation capabilities rather than subscriber numbers alone. Algeria Telecom’s investments in FTTH, Wi-Fi 7, and quality management demonstrate a strategic focus on building long-term digital competitiveness. Combined with Algeria’s ambitions to become a regional technology hub, these initiatives suggest a shift from connectivity expansion toward digital ecosystem development. The operators that succeed in the next decade will be those that pair infrastructure investment with consistent service quality, operational excellence, and customer trust.
