MoITT Launches Right of Way One-Window Operation to Boost Fiber Connectivity in Pakistan

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has launched the Right of Way (RoW) One-Window Operation to streamline and expedite the process of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for telecom operators.

Previously, telecom companies had to navigate complex approval processes from various government agencies, leading to delays in fiber network expansion. The challenging process of securing RoW NOCs has been a major hurdle in advancing Pakistan’s National Fiberization Vision, aimed at enhancing fiber connectivity nationwide.

A MoITT official explained that the new system simplifies the process by allowing telecom operators to electronically submit RoW applications, reducing paperwork and speeding up approvals. Online fee payments have also been integrated, enhancing transparency and efficiency. Additionally, a dedicated online platform for complaints and dispute resolution will facilitate quicker issue management, while Fiberization Mapping will track progress across the country.

The platform consolidates all procedural steps, enabling real-time tracking of applications, lowering operational costs, and accelerating fiber optic network deployment. This streamlined approach will support the faster implementation of the National Fiberization Vision, ultimately improving connectivity across Pakistan.

The RoW One-Window Operation will be accessible via an online portal and mobile app, offering key features expected to significantly benefit the telecom sector.
