Al-Baha: Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today between Al-Baha University and IBM. The MoU was signed by the university’s president, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hussein, and IBM Consulting’s Managing Partner for the Middle East & Africa, Bill Farrell.
Dr. Al-Hussein highlighted that the partnership with IBM will foster collaboration in academia and provide students with valuable opportunities to develop essential skills in the digital age. The initiative is aimed at building a highly skilled workforce to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s development.
The agreement includes the creation of a Center of Excellence to develop Saudi talent by offering advanced training in modern technologies. IBM will provide hands-on training programs and access to its extensive resources, while Al-Baha University will support the effort by offering suitable facilities and logistics to facilitate student involvement.
This collaboration is part of a broader set of investments IBM has recently made in Saudi Arabia, including the establishment of a regional headquarters and a software development lab. These efforts underscore IBM’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 through innovations in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and hybrid cloud solutions.
