During the inaugural Global Logistics Forum held in Riyadh from October 12 to 14, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, and Egypt’s Minister of Transport and Industry, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, signed a memorandum of understanding to boost maritime connectivity.
The memorandum, signed under the forum’s theme “Reshaping the Global Map of Logistics,” focuses on enhancing maritime passenger transport between the two nations. It includes initiatives to exchange expertise, train personnel in emerging maritime fields, improve service quality and efficiency, and enhance user experiences. The collaboration will cover various maritime activities, including yacht transport, marine passenger ships, and passenger ferries.
The Global Logistics Forum attracted a wide array of participants, including ministers, senior officials, international organization leaders, and experts from 30 countries. The event featured 130 speakers and 80 exhibitors, providing a rich platform for dialogue and exchange on global logistics advancements.
This maritime agreement aligns with broader cooperative efforts, underscored by Saudi Arabia’s recent announcement of a $5 billion investment in Egypt through the Public Investment Fund (PIF), signaling a deepening partnership aimed at mutual economic growth and development.
