In line with its commitment to fostering digital inclusion for persons with disabilities and creating a diverse society, Orange Jordan has hosted a sign language training session for its employees. This initiative aims to enhance communication with colleagues and customers who have hearing disabilities.
During the training, employees learned best practices for interacting with persons with hearing disabilities and the fundamental concepts of sign language. Orange emphasized that the participants’ eagerness to acquire new skills will not only boost their productivity but also encourage innovation and creativity, allowing them to reach new levels of achievement and success.
As part of its efforts to better serve customers with disabilities, Orange Jordan has launched a digital inclusion catalog available in all its shops across the Kingdom under the “Differently Abled, Definitely Enabled” initiative. This catalog is translated into sign language in both Arabic and English and includes a voice assistance (text-to-voice) feature for individuals with visual impairments, along with the SignBook application service for those with hearing disabilities. Internally, the company adheres to laws encouraging the private sector to employ persons with disabilities and publishes job vacancies on the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities page. Additional initiatives include “MNUBSOM BIL Ashra,” an internal charter reflecting the management’s commitment to including people with disabilities in the workforce, as well as the #MarhabaDiversity campaign.
