Cisco Partners with UAE Ministry to Drive Industry 4.0 Adoption in Manufacturing

Cisco has joined forces with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies in the country’s manufacturing sector. This collaboration aims to drive productivity, efficiency, and sustainability, supporting the UAE’s goal of becoming a global industrial hub.

The initiative is aligned with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, Operation 300bn, and is a key part of the Champions Network. This network includes both national and international industry leaders and champions in technology and manufacturing, who use I4.0 solutions to enhance their operations. As a member of MoIAT’s Champions Network, Cisco is contributing to the UAE’s digital transformation by fostering industrial competitiveness, reducing costs, and improving productivity, quality, and safety.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, emphasized the importance of strengthening local industrial companies’ capabilities, helping them align with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. He stated that the initiative will boost industrial efficiency, support supply chain resilience, and attract advanced industrial investments, enhancing the UAE’s position as a key player in global industries.

Abdelilah Nejjari, Managing Director at Cisco Gulf & Levant Region, highlighted the role of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program in providing data-driven solutions for the UAE’s manufacturing sector. He noted that the UAE’s technological transformation will continue to foster global competitiveness and productivity.

As part of the initiative, Cisco has already collaborated with a leading UAE manufacturing company. Cisco deployed its Real-Time Location Services (RTLS) solution, powered by IoT technology, at the company’s manufacturing facility in Dubai. This solution has enhanced operational efficiency by enabling real-time facility mapping, asset monitoring, process digitization, and compliance management. The integration of IT and OT operations at the facility sets a standard for innovation in the UAE’s industrial sector, and the blueprint is now available for use in other SME factories across the country.
