stc Group and Ooredoo Oman have signed an agreement to launch the Saudi-Omani Network Infrastructure Corridor (SONIC), aimed at boosting regional connectivity and digital transformation. The initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030, linking the Red Sea to the Arabian Sea, with a focus on high-capacity solutions and economic growth.
Oman has risen to 50th place in the 2024 Network Readiness Index, climbing four positions. The country is recognized for its significant improvements in digital infrastructure, ranking first globally in mobile network coverage and making strides in government investment in emerging technologies, virtual social networks, and gender inclusivity in internet use.
e& Egypt has partnered with Kuwaiti firm Urbnlanes Developments to upgrade ICT and data infrastructure for projects in New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital. The collaboration will introduce advanced digital solutions and expand fiber-optic networks to provide Triple Play services, enhancing connectivity for residents.
