Vodafone Oman has surpassed one million 5G users, supported by the fastest network rollout in the country’s history with over 98% population coverage. The milestone reflects customer trust and Vodafone’s commitment to powering Oman’s digital future with reliable, advanced connectivity.
Oman’s telecom regulator, TRA, discussed the impact of introducing a third operator on existing telecom companies’ profits. Chairman Eng. Omar al Islamili emphasized the importance of market competition, sustainability, and operational efficiency. He also highlighted the need for telecoms to diversify revenue streams and reinvest in infrastructure, particularly for 5G and broadband.
Oman’s telecom sector achieved solid growth in 2024, with a 4% revenue increase and significant progress in IoT, mobile, and broadband services. Investments in 4G/5G, fiber-optic expansion, and IoT have enhanced connectivity, contributing to the country’s Vision 2040 goals.
