Tunisia’s telecommunication companies—Tunisie Telecom, Orange Tunisie, and Ooredo—will begin offering 5G services from mid-February 2025. The companies have completed network upgrades and set up the necessary mechanisms to ensure a smooth transition, in line with ITU standards, marking a significant step in the country’s digital progress.

Ooredoo Qatar has partnered with Ericsson to enhance its 5G network, deploying advanced RAN and microwave backhaul solutions. This collaboration will expand coverage, especially in remote areas, improve indoor and outdoor capacity, and enable enhanced 5G services, including the use of new spectrum and backhaul technologies.
Tunisia is set to launch 5G mobile telephony services within ten days, as confirmed by Minister Sofiene Hemissi. The three telecom operators will roll out the service, with pricing details to be disclosed. The 5G rollout is expected to enhance connectivity and support digital transformation in the country.
