Maroc Telecom has ramped up its investments to 3.2 billion dirhams in the first half of 2024, reflecting a 9.8% increase compared to the 2.9 billion dirhams invested during the same period in 2023. Out of the total investment, 22 million dirhams were allocated to the acquisition of licenses and frequencies.
The company invested 1.5 billion dirhams in its operations within Morocco, while 1.67 billion dirhams were directed toward its Moov Africa subsidiaries. These strategic investments have led to a 5.1% year-on-year growth in Maroc Telecom’s subscriber base, now totaling 78.4 million customers.
Despite the increased investment, the group’s consolidated turnover slightly declined from 18.3 billion dirhams to 18.2 billion dirhams. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) decreased by 1.9% to 5.9 billion dirhams. However, the group’s adjusted net income saw a modest increase of 0.3%, reaching 2.94 billion dirhams.
