Zain Bahrain, the Kingdom’s leading telecom provider, has welcomed two new cohorts of trainees as part of its annual summer internship under the Zain Youth Empowerment program. This initiative offers young Bahraini talents the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various departments that align with their educational backgrounds and interests. This year, Zain Bahrain welcomed 34 new trainees in departments including customer care, wholesale, HR, and more.
As part of the internship, trainees visited the Bahrain Mobility International Center, where they interacted with community members and presented gifts. The second batch participated in the “Find Us at The Park” project, led by Budaiya-Hub, which involved measuring park temperatures across Bahrain to support the UN’s climate action goals (SDG 13). Activities included visits to Malkiya Beach and Karzakan Forest, highlighting Zain Bahrain’s commitment to community support through initiatives with positive social and environmental impacts.
Fatima Haider, Senior Manager of Corporate Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Culture at Zain Bahrain, stated, “Zain Bahrain is committed to providing training opportunities that go beyond traditional on-the-job training. We believe in creating a purposeful social and environmental experience that aligns with the UN’s sustainability goals (SDGs), reflecting Zain Bahrain’s corporate sustainability strategy and values. This internship program was carefully designed to develop employability skills by exposing the trainees to various fields and fully integrating them within Zain Bahrain’s culture.”
The Zain Youth Empowerment program is designed to equip and support youth with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful career paths. The internship aligns with Zain Bahrain’s ongoing efforts in corporate sustainability and social responsibility, aiming to bridge the gap between academics and the professional world to upskill local talent.
