The SANS Institute is set to deliver top-tier cybersecurity education to professionals across the Middle East, with two key training events: SANS Manama (7-12 September) at InterContinental Bahrain and SANS Doha (14-19 September) at InterContinental Doha. These courses are designed to equip professionals with the latest knowledge on emerging cyber threats, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle modern security challenges.
SANS Manama (7-12 September 2024) will feature two key courses:
- FOR508: Advanced Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Digital Forensics
This course empowers incident responders and threat hunters with the advanced skills needed to detect and counter a wide range of threats, from nation-state actors to organized crime syndicates and ransomware operators. - LDR414: SANS Training Program for CISSP Certification
An accelerated review course designed to prepare students for the CISSP exam, focusing on the eight key domains of knowledge required by (ISC)² to successfully pass the certification.
A notable highlight of SANS Manama will be the Community Night session on 9 September, titled “Justice Denied: How Bad Digital Forensics Threatens and Undermines Justice.” This session will explore real-world cases to show how improperly handled digital forensic evidence can lead to injustice, while also illustrating how the correct approach can secure justice.
SANS Doha (14-19 September 2024) will include the following courses:
- SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, and Incident Handling
This course provides insights into how to respond to breaches across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms, highlighting the tools and methods used by attackers and how to strengthen defenses based on these insights. - SEC560: Enterprise Penetration Testing
Designed to enhance penetration testers’ skills, this course also helps system administrators and defenders understand attackers’ mindsets and methodologies, allowing them to better protect their networks.
Ned Baltagi, Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey at SANS Institute, highlighted the importance of these training events: “As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, professionals in the Middle East must stay ahead of the curve. These sessions are not just about acquiring new skills, but about building a resilient cybersecurity community. We are committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to protect their organizations and the region.”
