Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has introduced a series of initiatives to help parents prepare their children for the upcoming school year, emphasizing psychological readiness and well-being.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education’s “Hello, My School” initiative, themed “From Student to Leader,” DFWAC hosted the “Kindness Makes Us Stronger” event and conducted reading activities featuring “The Pencil That Found Himself” story across several government schools in Dubai.
These initiatives reached 106 participants, aiming to foster a positive, engaging school environment, strengthen moral values, and build connections between schools, families, and the community. The “Kindness Makes Us Stronger” event used interactive cards designed to boost children’s self-confidence and promote values such as empathy, respect for others, and emotional management.
The reading sessions, part of DFWAC’s Child Protection Program, focused on raising awareness about children’s mental health while instilling positive values like kindness and self-acceptance.
HE Shaikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of DFWAC, reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to supporting children’s social development through simple and flexible educational strategies. She emphasized that DFWAC is committed to addressing school bullying through awareness programs for children and parents alike.
DFWAC also launched a digital campaign across social media, offering parents advice on establishing a school routine and encouraging the development of self-confidence in children. The campaign includes tips on goal-setting, identifying signs of anxiety, and fostering gratitude while navigating material pressures and peer comparisons.
The foundation’s efforts aim to ensure children feel secure and valued in the school environment, promoting inclusivity and resilience as they begin the new school year.
