stc group launches phase two of ‘New Calling’ real-time translation service in Riyadh

stc group has launched phase two of its “New Calling” initiative, introducing a pilot service that enables real-time Arabic–English translation during voice calls for selected customers in Riyadh.

The new feature is powered by an advanced network-based calling system integrated with Large Language Models (LLMs), allowing users to speak naturally in their native language while receiving an instant translation of the other caller’s speech.

The system is designed to deliver high-accuracy, context-aware translation that adapts to the nature of conversations, enabling smoother communication between speakers of different languages.

According to stc group, the service relies on low-latency processing at the network level, combined with secure voice network intelligence and speech models specifically optimized for Arabic and English. This approach ensures natural conversations while maintaining strong privacy and information security standards.

The pilot programme builds on the initial milestone of the New Calling project introduced in 2024, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience and simplify communication for diverse communities across Saudi Arabia.

By embedding translation directly into the calling experience, the feature allows residents, businesses and visitors to communicate more easily in situations ranging from business discussions to everyday conversations.

The phase two commercial pilot will gradually expand in the coming months as stc collects user feedback and evaluates performance. The company plans to introduce additional languages and new capabilities ahead of a broader nationwide rollout.
