Snap has unveiled a new augmented reality (AR) campaign titled ‘Kingdom’s Lenscape’ to mark Saudi Arabia’s 94th National Day. This innovative initiative seeks to connect Snapchatters with leading brands through immersive AR features available via the Lens Explorer and carousel on Snapchat.
The campaign includes two distinct AR solutions. The first, named FAKH’AR’, provides brands with their own exclusive AR environments. Here, users can delve into the brands’ contributions to Saudi Arabia’s development in an interactive manner during the National Day celebrations. Featured participants in this segment include The Saudi Investment Bank, Laverne, and Alwaleed Philanthropies. Additionally, the FAKHAR solution lets users imagine their future with these brands through a GenAI-inspired Lens.
The second feature, K’AR‘AM, embodies the spirit of generosity synonymous with the National Day. It offers Snapchatters special deals and limited-edition products in an AR marketplace, enhancing the traditional gifting culture. Brands like Ounass, Huda Beauty, NiceOne, Shahid, Spotify, Alwazn Almithaly, and Zyros are participating by showcasing their hero products. This feature also facilitates easy browsing and purchasing by linking directly to the brands’ websites and apps.
Abdulla Alhammadi, Managing Director – KSA at Snap Inc., describes the campaign as a digital celebration of the Saudi culture of gifting. “Kingdom’s Lenscape is not just a campaign but a heartfelt tribute to the traditions and cultural significance of Saudi National Day, enabling Snap and its partners to actively participate in the festivities,” he stated.
Snap reports that 85% of Saudis look forward to discovering new products and ideas from brands on National Day. ‘Kingdom’s Lenscape’ leverages this sentiment by offering a platform where Snapchatters can engage with renowned brands, uncover special offers, and explore cultural stories in a novel and impactful way.
With 22 million active monthly users in Saudi Arabia, Snapchat aims to reinforce its integral role in the Kingdom’s social landscape through ‘Kingdom’s Lenscape’, blending tradition, culture, and futuristic AR technology to create unique and captivating experiences.
