The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has launched an automated camera system to detect traffic violations, including failure to wear seat belts and the use of mobile phones while driving. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety, following directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, who emphasized the use of artificial intelligence and modern technology for traffic monitoring.
The Ministry highlighted that this advanced system will help reduce traffic accidents by ensuring strict adherence to traffic laws. Drivers are encouraged to wear seat belts and avoid using mobile phones while driving to safeguard their own safety and that of others.
This initiative forms part of Kuwait’s ongoing strategy to curb road accidents and save lives, aiming to significantly improve traffic safety and reduce fatalities on the country’s roadways.
