Scheduled Maintenance on SEA-ME-WE 5 Submarine Cable to Affect Internet Services in Bangladesh

Users in Bangladesh may experience temporary internet slowdowns or interruptions early on Saturday, 28 September, due to scheduled maintenance on the SEA-ME-WE 5 submarine cable located at Kuakata.

The Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) announced that the maintenance work will occur from 2 AM to 6 AM, during which time connectivity through the SEA-ME-WE 5 cables will be partially disrupted.

Despite the disruptions, services connected through the country’s first submarine cable, SEA-ME-WE 4 at Cox’s Bazar, will remain operational and unaffected during this period. The BSCCL aims to ensure minimal inconvenience by maintaining internet traffic flow through the alternative cable system.
