The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), has initiated a significant partnership to develop the National Human Development Report (NHDR) titled “Digital Transformation: A Roadmap for Progress.” This partnership aims to leverage digital transformation as a strategic tool for promoting inclusive growth in line with Bahrain Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The NHDR will provide a comprehensive analysis of how digital transformation can enhance human development outcomes in Bahrain, focusing on critical issues such as the digital divide, privacy concerns, cybersecurity, and the integration of digital technologies into public services. The report will benchmark Bahrain’s digital landscape against regional and international standards, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to improve digital inclusion, safeguard privacy, and secure digital infrastructures.
Furthermore, UNDP Bahrain and Derasat emphasize the importance of engaging stakeholders in the NHDR development process. By collaborating with government entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector, the report will incorporate diverse perspectives to ensure alignment with Bahrain’s national development objectives.
