Islamabad, Pakistan – Zong 4G, operated by China Mobile Pakistan (CMPak), has announced a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey, achieving 7 billion monthly recharge transactions through its digital channels. This achievement highlights the growing adoption of digital services in Pakistan and the success of Zong’s digital strategy.   

Zong first launched its digital customer channels in 2017, providing subscribers with a convenient way to top up their prepaid accounts without relying on physical retail stores or merchants. These digital options include banking apps, fintech apps, and websites, offering greater accessibility and flexibility for users.   

“Over the past seven years, the Alternate Channel has grown exponentially, now holding a 40% volume share in total recharge volume and delivering a YTD growth of 29.81% this year,” said Wasi Ansari, Zong 4G’s Director of Sales and Distribution.   

This milestone reflects Zong’s commitment to providing convenient and accessible services to its customers. With 49 million subscribers, Zong is a major player in Pakistan’s telecommunications market. The company has been actively investing in network expansion and modernization to meet the growing demand for digital services.   

In addition to expanding its digital recharge options, Zong has been actively deploying new 4G sites across Pakistan and modernizing its network infrastructure. This includes expanding service coverage to the Gilgit Baltistan region, bringing connectivity to previously underserved areas.
