Zain KSA Launches Fourth Edition of ‘Women in Tech’ Program to Empower Saudi Women in ICT

Zain KSA has officially launched the fourth edition of its ‘Women in Tech’ (WIT) program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing the role of women in Saudi Arabia’s ICT sector. This year, the program is supported by strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and global technology giants Huawei and Nokia.

The WIT 4 program is part of Zain KSA’s commitment to advancing inclusion, a key pillar of its corporate sustainability strategy. It reflects the company’s dedication to fostering a more diverse and inclusive society by aligning public and private sector efforts, promoting knowledge localization through global partnerships, and amplifying the role of Saudi women in national development.

The initiative, backed by the MCIT, represents a collaborative effort to increase female participation in the ICT industry. This year, women’s representation in the industry has reached 35%, a significant rise from just 7% in 2018. This achievement is a step forward in achieving Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives of shaping a dynamic digital future for the country.

Zain KSA’s WIT program, in partnership with Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, will offer specialized training and capacity-building programs in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields to over 150 students. Through hands-on training and advanced technical sessions led by Huawei and Nokia, students will gain practical experience in cutting-edge technologies. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workforce readiness, providing students with direct access to industry leaders and opening doors for careers in tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
