e& UAE unveiled its new Kids SIM Card and Parental Control Service on Wednesday at the WeProtect Global Summit 2024, hosted by the Ministry of Interior in Abu Dhabi. The initiative aims to protect children’s online activities while promoting safe and educational digital engagement.
The Kids SIM Card is designed to offer children a secure and controlled mobile experience, keeping them connected and ensuring their safety. Available in two flexible plans, it includes local minutes, unlimited data access, and free educational content. Parents can also specify which numbers their children can call, giving them full control over their child’s communication.
Alongside the Kids SIM Card, e& UAE introduced the Parental Control Service, a feature that helps parents manage their children’s online behavior. The service includes content filtering to block inappropriate websites and apps, screen time management for setting daily device usage limits, and social media monitoring to track activity on popular platforms. Parents will also receive detailed reports on their child’s online activity, including browsing history and app usage. Advanced cybersecurity features protect devices from malware, ensuring a safe digital environment.
The Kids SIM Card is available in two monthly plans priced at Dh49 and Dh99, both of which come with free access to the Parental Control Service. For those who wish to use the Parental Control Service separately, it is available for Dh30 per month, with a one-month free trial.
Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Consumer Officer at e& UAE, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “The launch of the Kids SIM Card and Parental Control Service is crucial as children’s exposure to online content continues to grow. Parents need the right tools to ensure their children’s safety, and we aim to provide them with an easy-to-use solution that enhances their online experience while protecting them from risks.”
