Morocco Launches e-Police Digital Portal to Streamline Police Services

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) of Morocco announced the official launch of the e-Police digital portal on Thursday, offering citizens online access to a range of police administrative services starting December 20. This new portal allows Moroccan citizens to request important documents, such as criminal record certificates and appointments for identity cards, through an interactive online platform.

The e-Police portal is designed to simplify access to essential services, improving efficiency, speed, and overall user experience. Citizens will be able to request administrative documents after verifying their identity through the “Tiers de Confiance” identity verification platform and the “Digital Identity” portal, both developed by the DGSN.

The portal is built using modern technology to centralize all services provided by the National Police in one digital space. The DGSN highlighted that the website is user-friendly and incorporates the latest technologies and integrated digital solutions in the field of e-government, including remote identity verification and robust protection of personal data.

The first service to be integrated into the e-Police platform will be the criminal record extract. Upon requesting a copy of their criminal record, citizens will receive an electronic notification confirming its availability. They can then visit a nearby identity registration center to collect the document in a faster time frame than before.

In addition, the e-Police portal will also support various other services, including scheduling appointments for electronic national identity cards and registering for police recruitment exams.

The launch of the e-Police portal marks the first phase in the ongoing effort to digitize public police services in Morocco. Future phases are expected to include more administrative documents and services. Additionally, the DGSN has introduced “e-Blagh,” a platform dedicated to combating cybercrime, including offenses like online fraud, child sexual exploitation, terrorism, and other illegal activities.
