Saudi Broadcasting Authority Upgrades Studio A with Cutting-Edge Technology to Enhance Production Quality

The Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) has completed a major upgrade of Studio A, the primary studio for its flagship channel, Saudi One. The project, in partnership with First Gulf Company (FGC), includes the integration of Grass Valley’s advanced live production technology, marking a significant step forward in the Kingdom’s media capabilities.

This renovation aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, focusing on cultural preservation and technological advancements. The upgrades aim to elevate production quality to international standards, ensuring that Saudi One can engage audiences with content that blends modern storytelling with deep cultural values.

Key features of the upgrade include the integration of Grass Valley’s LDX 98 cameras, K-Frame Kayenne 4 M/E switchers, and Densité processing equipment. These 4K-ready solutions will enhance production capabilities, particularly for Saudi One’s core programming of news and talk shows.

Eng. Hatim Abounassf, SBA’s executive vice president for engineering affairs, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Grass Valley’s proactive support significantly impacts our progress, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving transformative milestones.”

This transformation of Studio A reflects SBA’s strategic goal to set new standards of media excellence in the region, reinforcing the authority’s commitment to producing innovative, high-quality programming that honors Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage.

Tim Banks, Chief Revenue Officer at Grass Valley, added, “We are proud to empower media organizations in the Middle East with cutting-edge solutions, strengthening our partnership with SBA to redefine the region’s media landscape.”
