Onda, a leading South Korean AI and big data-driven hospitality technology company, has announced plans to establish a joint venture with UAE-based Seed Group. This collaboration will leverage Seed Group’s extensive regional networks, allowing Onda to accelerate its entry into the Middle East market. Additionally, Onda aims to complete SaaS localization testing for its proprietary technology by the first half of 2025. The company has ramped up its efforts in the region with a diverse marketing strategy to strengthen its presence.
Onda, which holds a dominant position in South Korea’s hospitality technology sector, controls about 60-70% of the country’s online booking market. It has formed strong partnerships with global tech giants, becoming the first Excellent Partner of Airbnb and Trip.com in Korea and earning recognition as a 2024 Booking.com Advanced Connectivity Partner. Furthermore, Onda is the first Korean company to rank 34th on the Global PMS Vendor list compiled by Skift, a US-based travel research company.
Onda has actively participated in major industry exhibitions in the Middle East, such as Expand North Star and Gitex 2024. At these events, the company showcased its cutting-edge solutions to major hotel chains and presented customized digital transformation strategies designed for the regional market.
In a bid to solidify its regional presence, Onda is introducing its flagship hotel digital transformation technologies, including Onda Hub, the centerpiece of its online distribution platform business, as well as its Central Reservation System (CRS) and Property Management System (PMS).
Kevin Oh, CEO of Onda, stated, “Onda has strengthened its local networks by participating in the seminar hosted by Dubai Chambers and has created new business opportunities through strategic partnerships. This move represents the culmination of our persistent efforts to enter the Middle Eastern market and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.”
