Satellite operator Arabsat has announced a new partnership with UAE-based ZainTech, a leading digital and ICT solutions provider, to offer satellite-powered cloud, IoT, AI, drones, and data services across the MENA region.
The collaboration combines ZainTech’s managed and secure cloud infrastructure with Arabsat’s extensive satellite network. This partnership aims to provide businesses with secure, scalable, and reliable solutions, ensuring service availability even in remote areas.
In a LinkedIn post, Arabsat highlighted that the partnership would expand access to high-quality services, especially in underserved regions. Last year, Arabsat, which is fully owned by the Arab League, revealed plans to enter new markets across the Middle East, Africa, and West/Central Asia. These efforts are aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to invest in space and reduce dependence on media and broadcasting. The aim is to bring satellite internet services to remote locations through Arabsat’s VSAT broadband business.
In May 2024, Arabsat partnered with ST Engineering iDirect to integrate cloud technologies into its gateway infrastructure, further supporting its push for diversification and expanding satellite-based services.
