e& Egypt and Huawei Complete First Commercial Trial of Eco High Gain Antenna in Africa

e& Egypt, Egypt’s leading technology operator, and Huawei have successfully completed the first commercial trial of the Eco High Gain antenna in Africa. The test, conducted in Cairo, marks a significant milestone in enhancing network coverage and improving user experience through cutting-edge antenna technology.

As one of the major telecommunications service providers in Africa, e& Egypt has a growing customer base that demands reliable network coverage, both in urban areas and remote locations. Improving coverage distance and capacity is essential to delivering superior customer experiences, and this collaboration with Huawei addresses these needs.

Huawei’s Eco series antenna is known for its high performance and efficiency, utilizing advanced technologies like Unique Signal Direct Injection Feeding (SDIF) and Meta Lens antenna to minimize radio frequency signal losses. These innovations significantly enhance network coverage and improve data transmission speed and quality. In the trial, the Huawei Eco High Gain antenna resulted in a 3.4dB increase in network coverage, a 20% increase in traffic, and a 100% increase in data throughput. These improvements are crucial for handling the growing number of users and alleviating capacity pressures.

The Eco High Gain antenna’s design also allows for the addition of more frequency bands without requiring additional site space, which accelerates network construction and reduces costs. This sets the stage for more efficient 5G and future 5.5G network advancements in Egypt.

Hossam Abdelkader, Director of Network Planning at e& Egypt, emphasized the significance of the innovation, stating that it helps the company deliver exceptional customer experiences while driving sustainable growth. Andy Sun, President of Huawei’s Antenna Business Unit, echoed this, reaffirming Huawei’s commitment to providing high-performance, eco-friendly networks.

Through this collaboration, e& Egypt continues to strengthen its network infrastructure, ensuring it meets the growing demands of its customers and reinforces its leadership in the telecommunications industry.
