Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has announced a partnership with STATION F, a global startup campus that supports over 1,000 startups, to launch the NextAfrica program. The initiative is designed to foster innovation by bridging Europe and Africa, with a focus on supporting startups in sectors such as Greentech, Agritech, and Healthtech.
The NextAfrica program aims to accelerate the development of international startups interested in entering the African market. It will provide key resources, mentorship, and funding opportunities for startups, along with scientific expertise from UM6P’s laboratories. The partnership will enable startups to access the entrepreneurial ecosystem at STATION F in Paris and UM6P’s resources in Morocco, enhancing their ability to grow and address technological, economic, and environmental challenges in Africa.
Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, highlighted the importance of the partnership in connecting African and European talents within an innovative environment. The collaboration is expected to foster a thriving ecosystem of excellence, promoting the development of sustainable solutions for Africa’s key challenges. Roxanne Varza, Director of STATION F, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the strengthening of strategic sectors such as Greentech and Healthtech, and the growing Moroccan presence at STATION F.
Each year, the program will offer international support to 20 Greentech and Healthtech startups, providing them with the tools to expand into African markets while accelerating their growth within the global startup ecosystem.
