du Becomes Exclusive UAE Partner for PEACE Subsea Cable Project to Fuel AI Growth

du has secured the exclusive partnership for the UAE landing point of the PEACE subsea cable project, announced ahead of Capacity Middle East 2025. Obaid Rahman, SVP and head of international wholesale at du, highlighted that the project will significantly contribute to fueling AI growth in the region.

The PEACE cable is a major subsea system linking France to Singapore, covering a distance of 15,000 km. Following its completion in 2022, the project has seen efforts to expand with new connections, extending its total length to 25,000 km, with new landing points in Africa and the Middle East.

PEACE utilizes diverse terrestrial cables to offer low-latency connectivity to regional data centers in countries such as Egypt, Pakistan, and Seychelles. Key players in the project include Orange, Telecom Egypt, and Singtel, all of whom are operating landing points. du’s new landing point in the UAE is expected to foster new monetization opportunities and enhance the country’s digital infrastructure.

Rahman expressed pride in du’s role in this transformative project, noting that the cable will establish vital links between the UAE and major global digital hubs in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This development aims to accelerate the UAE’s digital transformation, while reinforcing its position as a leader in digital infrastructure and AI innovation.
