WorldLink Launches Nepal’s Largest Data Center in Chandragiri

WorldLink Communications Ltd., a prominent internet service provider, has completed the construction of its new data center, “Data World,” located in Chandragiri, Kathmandu. With a 3.5-megawatt IT power capacity, this data center is the largest in Nepal to date, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.

Located near the Mata Tirtha substation, the facility ensures continuous power supply and uninterrupted connectivity. It boasts 520 racks and is Nepal’s first-ever tier-3 and Edge-certified green facility, making it ideal for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). As an edge data center, it is strategically placed closer to users and devices, enhancing the speed and efficiency of services.

The data center is also earthquake-resistant and carrier-neutral, which allows it to support various service providers and telecom companies. WorldLink plans to make the facility available to Nepali businesses, including telecom firms and ISPs, helping the country’s technological growth. Additionally, the company aims to open more edge data centers across Nepal, with plans for 14 world-class centers worth NRs. 3 billion.

WorldLink’s data center in Chandragiri is set to provide superior capacity and connectivity, positioning Nepal as a potential global technology hub. The facility will be operational in the coming months, marking a major milestone in Nepal’s digital transformation.
