Meta Expands AI Assistant to MENA Region, Revolutionizing User Experience Across Apps

Meta has announced the expansion of its AI assistant, Meta AI, to the Middle East and North Africa, offering users in the region a powerful tool for learning, creating, and connecting. The assistant is now accessible through Meta’s family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, in key markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and Iraq.

Meta AI, built on Meta’s Llama 3.2 model, can generate text, create and animate images, and assist users with quick research and planning. It also supports Arabic, making it more accessible to people across the region. The tool can be activated by typing ‘@Meta AI’ in group chats, where it provides real-time suggestions and helps with tasks like brainstorming or planning trips.

The expansion also introduces Meta AI’s image-generation “Imagine” feature, allowing users to generate and animate images based on detailed descriptions. With nearly 700 million active users, Meta AI is poised to become the most used AI assistant globally by the end of 2025.

To celebrate its arrival in MENA, Meta is launching a content series called “Elevating Every Moment,” featuring regional creators on Instagram and educational content to help users maximize the potential of Meta AI. Future updates will bring advanced multimodal features like real-time image editing and personalized portrait creation.
