KUWAIT: Zain recently participated in honoring the winners of the Kuwait CyberChamps Competition, reinforcing its strategic partnership with the event. Organized by IDRAK Training and Consultancy at Kuwait University, the competition was supported by the Public Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and the National Cybersecurity Center, with the patronage of Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei.
Zain was part of the celebration for the top three teams: Team MPSG, which clinched first place; Team Zero Day Hunters in second place; and Team Security Champs, which secured third. Each team consisted of five students, and Zain’s Enterprise Risk Management Department Manager, Faisal Al-Ali, served as a judge on the evaluation panel. The competition attracted 100 students from middle and high schools, aiming to strengthen their technological skills and prepare them for future digital challenges.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Zain’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer, Waleed Al-Khashti, emphasized Zain’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives that equip the next generation with the necessary skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world. “We are proud of our partnership with the Kuwait CyberChamps Competition, which helps empower students and strengthen their capabilities to meet the challenges of a fast-evolving world,” he said.
Al-Khashti also expressed gratitude toward IDRAK, the Ministry of Education, and the National Cybersecurity Center for their efforts in ensuring the competition’s success, highlighting the importance of public-private sector collaboration in advancing national development goals.
“This partnership is part of Zain’s Innovation Nation initiative, which promotes creativity and technical skills to build a generation that will lead Kuwait’s digital future,” Al-Khashti added. He further stressed the importance of cybersecurity education, especially as technological advancements such as artificial intelligence increase vulnerabilities to cyber threats. Zain’s focus on nurturing youth talent in programming and digital skills is integral to addressing these challenges.
Zain’s support for the CyberChamps Competition aligns with its Innovation Nation initiative, which emphasizes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, critical for future job markets. The initiative aims to cultivate a skilled generation capable of driving Kuwait’s digital transformation.
The competition sought to create a sustainable culture of cybersecurity awareness among students, developing their skills in programming, cybersecurity, and technological innovation. By engaging students in interactive activities, educational events, and training camps, the competition provided tools and opportunities for students to enhance their digital talents and explore potential career paths in cybersecurity.
