Nepal Telecom (NTC) has released its financial results for the second quarter of FY 2081/82, reporting a 33% decrease in profit, amounting to Rs 2.63 billion compared to Rs 3.93 billion in the same period last year. The company’s revenue also saw a slight decline by 1.4%, falling to Rs 17.49 billion from Rs 17.24 billion.
NTC’s quarterly revenue from customer services decreased by 3.9%, from Rs 8.66 billion to Rs 8.32 billion. Operating revenue also showed a decline of 1.46%, while financial revenue dropped from Rs 3.61 billion to Rs 2.30 billion. However, the company saw an increase in revenue from other sources, which rose from Rs 21 crore to Rs 44.65 crore.
The government has announced plans to increase NTC’s public share to 25%. Despite the downturn in revenue and profit, the company continues to focus on its financial stability and growth prospects.
