Ooredoo Qatar has selected Nokia to modernize its core network, enabling the delivery of more advanced services through network slicing, AI, and machine learning integration. This modernization aims to improve network performance, reliability, and customer experience, while supporting Ooredoo Qatar’s network evolution to unlock new business models and revenue streams.
The deal includes Nokia’s 5G voice core, packet core, and subscriber data management solutions, which will allow Ooredoo Qatar to provide ultra-low latency bandwidth and multi-access edge computing. These capabilities are essential for real-time industrial automation and high-quality gaming experiences at scale.
Nokia’s core solutions offer flexibility for multi-vendor networks, enabling Ooredoo Qatar to create thousands of virtual networks on a single physical infrastructure. Each “slice” can be tailored to specific applications, services, and customer needs. Additionally, Ooredoo Qatar will leverage Nokia’s MantaRay NM solution for consolidated and automated network monitoring and management.
The deal also includes the deployment of Nokia’s Data Center Fabric solution, which allows data centers and cloud environments to scale, adapt, and operate efficiently. Nokia’s 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR) system will help optimize service delivery with higher efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and increased capacity.
Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al-Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, emphasized the company’s vision to enrich digital lives, with the new 5G standalone core network supporting Ooredoo’s transformation projects and improving customer and enterprise experiences. Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, highlighted the strong partnership and support for Ooredoo’s evolving digital and network needs.
