Bahrain Launches Online Platform for Small Vessel Registration and Licensing

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in Bahrain has launched an online platform to facilitate the registration and licensing of small vessels. This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and competitive services.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, emphasized that the launch of the platform aligns with Bahrain’s broader development agenda under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The platform plays a crucial role in advancing government services as part of the ministry’s digital transformation strategy, which is aligned with the Government Programme (2023-2026) and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs, shared that the platform provides a range of services, including registration, licensing, renewals, and ownership transfers. Serving over 25,000 users and 8,000 vessels, it has reduced processing times by up to 50%.

The platform is accessible through the e-key or national portal (bahrain.bh) and eliminates the need for in-person visits to service centers. It also features QR code verification and is fully integrated with relevant authorities, including the Coast Guard.
