In a series of productive bilateral meetings in Algiers, the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) and the Slovenian Space Office, along with representatives from both countries’ space industries, have laid the groundwork for collaboration in space technologies and applications. The discussions focused on satellite technology, with the aim of fostering mutual interests between the nations.
Ms. Tanja Permozer, Head of the Slovenian Space Office, led the Slovenian delegation with a strong vision for cooperation, underscoring the potential benefits for both countries. Dejan Gacnik, Technical Director at SkyLabs d.o.o., emphasized the company’s involvement in the partnership, discussing concrete cooperation opportunities with key ASAL leaders such as Dr. Mohammed Kameche and Dr. Habib Mahi.
ASAL has identified SkyLabs as a strategic partner for upcoming satellite constellation missions, marking the partnership’s significance. The cooperation between Algeria and Slovenia will be formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), further solidifying their shared commitment to space technology development.
The Slovenian Ambassador in Algeria, Ms. Urška Kramberger Mendek, also played a key role in the discussions, highlighting the importance of this collaboration for both nations’ space programs. This partnership reflects a significant step forward in enhancing the capabilities of both countries’ space industries.
