The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in Bahrain has signed a letter of intent with APM Terminals, the operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port, to collaborate on upgrading port infrastructure and developing national talent. The agreement aims to integrate advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational capacity and enhance environmental sustainability, contributing to Bahrain’s long-term economic growth.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with global companies to further develop the transport, ports, and maritime sectors. The partnership aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, reinforcing its position as a regional logistics hub and supporting sustainable development.
Jonathan Goldner, APM Terminals’ regional Chief Executive for Asia and the Middle East, expressed the company’s dedication to expanding its strategic partnership with Bahrain. He highlighted efforts to enhance port capacity, offer advanced logistics services, and develop human capital to support sustainable development and environmental goals.
