Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, organized a five-day specialized 5G training program at the Jazz-NUST 5G Innovation Lab for officials from the Frequency Allocation Board (FAB). The training, held from February 10 to February 14, covered crucial aspects of 5G technology to support Pakistan’s digital transformation.
The program included topics such as end-to-end (E2E) network evolution, air interface technologies, multi-frequency network optimization, radio network performance management, RAN network slicing, and practical applications of 5G. The training sessions also offered valuable insights into spectrum planning and network optimization, helping key stakeholders better understand how to regulate and implement emerging technologies.
Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at Jazz, emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in driving Pakistan’s digital future. He stated, “This training strengthens industry-academia-government linkages, ensuring informed decision-making and accelerating 5G adoption.”
Since its launch in December 2022, the Jazz-NUST 5G Innovation Lab has been pivotal in preparing Pakistan for the 5G era. It serves as a hub for research, collaboration, and training, equipping stakeholders with the expertise needed to harness 5G for national development. Through initiatives like this training and Pakistan’s first 5G Hackathon, the lab continues to drive digital transformation and open up new opportunities across various sectors.
