Tunisie Telecom Launches Nationwide 5G Network to Boost Connectivity and Services

Tunisie Telecom officially launched its 5G mobile network across all regions of the country at midnight on February 14, 2025. CEO Lassâad Ben Dhiab confirmed that 5G would offer significantly higher upload and download speeds compared to 4G, enhancing high-speed streaming services and optimizing existing infrastructure nationwide.

During a press conference held in El Menzah, Ben Dhiab highlighted the importance of the 5G rollout as part of a larger transformation program. The new technology will improve Tunisia’s telecom capabilities both locally and regionally. Additionally, a strategic partnership was signed on February 7, 2025, to expand the country’s international connectivity with a new submarine cable, set to become operational within a year.

Ben Dhiab emphasized that the 5G technology is part of an ongoing, comprehensive modernization program, which includes significant improvements in network structure and connectivity. This development aligns with Tunisia’s national digital transformation strategy for 2021-2025, focusing on digitalizing public administration and establishing Tunisia as a digital innovation hub.
