Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt Sign EGP 15 Billion Agreements to Boost Digital Infrastructure

Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt have signed landmark agreements worth EGP 15 billion to enhance Egypt’s digital infrastructure. The agreements focus on expanding fiber networks, improving transmission services, and supporting the rollout of 5G technology, solidifying their long-term partnership and boosting service offerings in Egypt’s telecommunications market.

The agreements, signed by Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, and Yasser Shaker, Managing Director and CEO of Orange Egypt, also include a three-year extension of transmission services until 2032, and a new contract for fiber-to-the-site (FTTS) services. These initiatives are expected to improve service delivery, increase operational capacity, and provide customers with competitive pricing for high-speed internet and mobile services.

In addition to the fiber expansion, a Service Level Agreement (SLA) was signed to strengthen Orange Egypt’s position as a leading provider of mobile internet services. The agreements also focus on amending fixed internet services to enhance cost efficiency, further driving down prices for consumers and improving the quality of offerings.

These efforts are part of a broader push by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to improve telecommunications across the country, with significant advancements such as 5G, eSIM services, and Wi-Fi Calling already in place. Future initiatives, including expanding mobile tower coverage and a nationwide 5G rollout, aim to provide comprehensive connectivity across urban and rural areas by mid-2025.

Both companies have emphasized their commitment to continuing collaboration to support Egypt’s growing digital economy and deliver enhanced services to consumers across the nation.
