Saudi digital infrastructure company DataVolt announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) to lease land for the development of an AI-ready data centre in Riyadh.
The new facility will be built on a 55,000-square-meter plot located in Riyadh’s first technology park. The data centre will feature advanced cooling systems, an innovative circularity approach, and optimized energy solutions to ensure sustainability. DataVolt aims to create a cutting-edge facility designed for AI processing to meet the growing demand from hyperscalers, cloud providers, content companies, and enterprises across Saudi Arabia.
DataVolt CEO Rajit Nanda highlighted the company’s commitment to both enabling AI innovation and minimizing environmental impact. “The opportunity in artificial intelligence is accelerating, and we are focused on fostering AI innovation while ensuring sustainability,” Nanda said. “We have worked closely with MODON to develop this project, and we are excited to deliver another state-of-the-art facility.”
This new data centre is part of DataVolt’s $5 billion investment in Saudi Arabia. The company has previously developed and operated over 20GW of renewable energy assets across nine countries.
MODON, established in 2001, oversees 39 industrial cities across Saudi Arabia, including those under development, and also manages private industrial cities and complexes.
