Nepal Telecom (Ntc) has successfully expanded its 4G network to Adanchuli Rural Municipality in Humla and Soru Rural Municipality in Mugu, providing locals with high-speed mobile broadband and VoLTE HD voice services. The expansion brings faster mobile data to southern areas of Humla, including Tanjakot, Adanchuli, and Sarkegad, as well as parts of Mugu, such as Soru Rural Municipality and nearby areas.
The launch has been met with great enthusiasm from the local population, as it enables enhanced connectivity for daily activities. Previously, locals had to visit offices to make video calls or use the internet, but now they have broadband access directly from their mobile phones at home. Adanchuli Rural Municipality Chairman Mohan Bikram Singh expressed relief and satisfaction with the new services, which have significantly improved communication for government offices and local residents.
Ntc also installed a 4G tower in Lamakandh, located in Soru Rural Municipality, providing coverage to additional areas such as Tanjakot and Sarkegad. The 4G coverage is expected to extend further with the completion of additional towers in other regions, including Mahatara Chaur, between Adanchuli and Sarkegad.
This expansion is part of Ntc’s ongoing efforts to provide 4G service across remote and rural areas, contributing to bridging Nepal’s digital gap and fostering digital transformation. The company is nearing 99% coverage with its 4G network, with plans to complete national coverage by FY 2081/82, continuing to drive connectivity and growth in Nepal’s rural communities.
