Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven strategies are transforming business operations, according to experts speaking at the 11th edition of the Digital Summit in Dhaka. Zaved Akhtar, CEO of Unilever Bangladesh, highlighted the growing importance of AI in solving business challenges, particularly in market demand prediction, inventory management, and marketing strategy optimization.
AI, with its capabilities in data analytics, machine learning, and advanced algorithms, is becoming essential for businesses to stay competitive. Akhtar noted that AI has drastically improved processes like 3D printing, reducing the time required to complete tasks from 15-20 days to just 30 minutes.
Akhtar, who is also the president of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry, pointed out that Bangladesh’s economic landscape is divided into two distinct regions: the industrialized eastern region with higher digital advertising due to remittances, and the rural western region where traditional sales methods dominate.
The Digital Summit, organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum and presented by Meghna Group of Industries, brought together industry leaders, digital experts, and business strategists to discuss the dynamic digital landscape. Under the theme “Digital Renaissance: Innovating for Tomorrow’s Consumer,” the summit explored the intersection of technology, consumer behavior, and brand engagement.
Sajid Mahbub, Group CEO and Executive Editor of Bangladesh Brand Forum, opened the event by emphasizing the necessity of embracing digital transformation. He stressed that digital evolution is no longer a future concept, but an ongoing reality that is reshaping business and brand interactions. The summit featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, and insight sessions aimed at providing practical solutions and insights for navigating digital transformation.
